More and more international pop stars are shooting their music videos on Mallorca

Mallorca has become a hotspot for international music videos in recent years. Whether Spanish, US or South Korean artists - the combination of picturesque landscapes, a stable Mediterranean climate and a highly developed infrastructure is attracting more and more pop stars and film crews. The island is particularly appreciated in the music industry as a visually appealing and versatile location.

A current example is the South Korean pop star "V", who recently filmed a music video in Palma and perfectly showcased the idyllic backdrop of the island.

Singer Kim Taehyung, known as "V" from the successful boy band BTS, filmed his video for a relaxed, romantic soul hit that is currently in the charts. In the clip, which was released worldwide on September 8, 2024 and had already recorded over 5.7 million views by the afternoon of the same day, "V" splashes around with friends in the turquoise blue water, lets watermelons roll around in the sea, drives on serpentines ("Sa Calobra") through the Tramuntana and dances in the bay of Portals Vells in the southwest of the island.

But it's not just music stars who find inspiration on Mallorca - Bollywood productions such as the romantic music video "Tere Pyaar Mein" with superstars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were also filmed here. Filming took place in picturesque locations such as Andratx and Pollensa, highlighting the diversity of the island's landscapes.

Hollywood stars such as Katy Perry and international productions from Netflix and Paramount+ have also used Mallorca as a filming location. From "The Crown" to major blockbusters, the island's unique atmosphere attracts both musicians and film productions. These productions not only bring international flair to the island, but also economic benefits as they involve local service providers and professionals.

The Mallorca Film Commission has been working for almost a decade to promote the island as a film and shooting location. The increasing number of shoots - from music videos and films to commercials - shows that Mallorca is becoming increasingly attractive not only for tourists, but also for the creative industry.

For Claus von Benz Immobilien, this development means an additional increase in international interest in the island. The increasing media presence not only makes Mallorca a popular filming location, but also promotes interest in real estate, be it for vacation homes or permanent residences.
